Salt

A chlorine generator uses sodium chloride (Salt) to make Free Chlorine. The generator converts the Salt to the Free Chlorine that will sanitize your pool, killing bacteria and microorganisms in the water. A proper level of Salt will ensure that a property functioning generator is able to produce the desired amount of Free Chlorine to keep the water free of contaminants. To ensure the adequacy of your sanitizer levels, test your Free Chlorine levels 2-3 times a week.
